What is FlightDeck?

FlightDeck is an iPhone app for student pilots. It brings your home airport weather, the aircraft you fly, aviation calculators that show their work, and PPL study guides built around the ACS into one place, and it points you to the FAA sources to read more. It’s a study aid and training reference, not a substitute for your CFI or your POH.

What’s free, and what do Flight Tools and Study Tools add?

Free, with a FlightDeck account: your home airport dashboard, a weather check against standard VFR visibility and cloud minimums plus conservative default wind limits, and the PPL Study Roadmap. Flight Tools adds 8 calculators, aircraft profiles with your aircraft’s card on the home screen, your own personal minimums, and ratings and milestone tracking. Study Tools adds Checkride Prep (ACS), 199 flashcards, the FAR/AIM Navigator, Study Ref and the reference guides.

What does FlightDeck cost?

FlightDeck is free to download and free to start with a FlightDeck account: the home airport dashboard and the PPL Study Roadmap are included. Flight Tools and Study Tools are optional one-time in-app purchases through the App Store ($9.99 for Flight Tools and $9.99 for Study Tools). They are not subscriptions and do not renew.

How do I restore my purchases on a new device?

Purchases are tied to your Apple ID, not your FlightDeck account. If you reinstall the app or use a new device, sign in with the same Apple ID and tap Restore Previous Purchase on the purchase screen in the app to restore Flight Tools and Study Tools.

How do I get a refund?

In-app purchases are processed by Apple, so refund requests are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

How do I delete my account and data?

You can delete your account directly in the app’s Settings screen. When you delete your account, we delete your associated personal data from our servers within a reasonable time, except where retention is required by law. Data stored only on your device can be removed by deleting the app.

Can I use FlightDeck for navigation?

No. FlightDeck is a training and reference tool only and is not for navigation. Always verify calculations against your aircraft’s POH and obtain an official weather briefing before flight. See the Aviation Disclaimer in our EULA.
