1. Introduction

FlightDeck ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by Ident Aviation LLC ("Ident Aviation"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the FlightDeck mobile application ("App").

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Account Information: Your email address, your name (if provided), and your password (stored in hashed form) when you create an account.
Aircraft and Pilot Photos: If you choose to add a pilot headshot or aircraft photo using your device's camera or photo library, the image is uploaded to and stored on our cloud servers and associated with your account.
Legal Acceptance Records: When you accept the EULA and this Privacy Policy, we record the document type and version, the date and time, your IP address, and your device's user-agent (device and software information).
Password Reset Records: If you request a password reset, we create a temporary reset token and send a reset email to your account email address.
Pilot Profile: Display name, home airport, pilot photo, total flight hours, aircraft types, ratings, milestones, and bio you choose to enter, stored on our servers and associated with your account.
Saved Frequencies and Feature Votes: Radio frequencies you save and any votes you cast on proposed App features, stored on our servers and associated with your account.
Transactions: Purchase entitlement, and refund status. In-app purchases are processed by Apple; we do not receive your payment card details.
Usage Data: Screen views within the App, associated with a random identifier generated for your installation of the App, to help us improve the App.

The following information is stored only locally on your device and is not sent to our servers: aircraft profiles (performance data, tail numbers, weight & balance information), personal minimums, checklist customizations, favorite airports, preferred aircraft, home screen layout, and cached weather data.

Information we do not collect: The App does not use your device's location; your home airport is entered by you. The App does not use advertising tracking or advertising identifiers, and we do not sell your personal information.

Website Launch List: If you join the FlightDeck launch list on identaviation.com, we collect your email address only to tell you when FlightDeck launches and to share occasional product news. We do not sell it. Your email address is stored through our website host, Netlify. You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete it at any time by emailing support@identaviation.com.

Website Analytics: identaviation.com uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are viewed. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not collect your name or email address.

3. How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain the App's functionality;
To save your pilot profile, photos, and saved frequencies to your account and make them available when you sign in;
To authenticate your account and send transactional emails, such as password resets;
To provide, verify, and restore your in-app purchases;
To record your acceptance of our legal terms;
To improve and develop new features;
To communicate important updates about the App.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and security practices. Account data, pilot profiles, uploaded photos, saved frequencies, feature votes, and legal acceptance records are stored on secure cloud servers operated by our service providers. Aircraft profiles, personal minimums, checklist customizations, and other local preferences are stored on your device.

5. Third-Party Services

We use third-party service providers to provide certain features, and share with them only the information needed to perform their services. These include:

App store and payments: Apple (App Store purchases and refunds);
Purchase management: RevenueCat (verifying and restoring in-app purchases);
Transactional email: Resend (password reset and account emails);
Aviation data sources: aviationweather.gov and FAA data services (METAR/TAF weather, NOTAMs, and TFRs), and public airport data sources (airport, runway, and frequency information);
App hosting, storage, and analytics: Anything (app hosting, database and file storage, and usage analytics).
Website hosting and forms: Netlify (hosting identaviation.com and storing launch list sign-ups).
Website analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookie-free visit counts for identaviation.com).

When the App requests weather, NOTAM, TFR, or airport information, it sends airport identifiers to these data sources; it does not send your personal information. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time through the App's Settings screen. When you delete your account, we delete your associated personal data from our servers within a reasonable time, except where retention is required by law. Data stored only on your device can be removed by deleting the App.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you;
Request correction of inaccurate data;
Request deletion of your account and data;
Withdraw consent for data processing;
Export your data in a portable format.

You can delete your account directly in the App's Settings screen. To exercise any other right, email support@identaviation.com.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of thirteen (13) years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen (13) years old.

9. Changes to This Policy

Ident Aviation reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Ident Aviation will notify you of any material changes through the App or via email.
